MS Dhoni is known for his cricketing and captaincy skills. Under his captaincy India has got victory in all three major ICC tournaments, Twenty20 World Cup in 2007, 50 Over World Cup in 2011 and the Champion’s Trophy in 2013.

He has won ICC player of the Year award twice. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was recommended as a captain of Indian team by Sachin Tendulkar. When he made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2004, he got run out at 1st ball.

Dhoni has turned for the country till now in 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20Is while affecting a staggering 829 dismissals behind the stumps. He is the first Indian wicket-keeper batsman to score 4000 test runs.

Dhoni has special love for bikes and cars. He has more than 23 superbikes. Open Mahendra Scorpio, Hummer H2, Land Rover Freelander, Porsche 911, Audi Q7, Ferrari 599, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mitsubishi Pajero are some of his cars collection. Harley Davidson, Kawasaki Ninja H2, Yamaha Rxz, Enfield Machismo, Ducati 1098, a Norton Vintage, Tvs Apache and many more.

Dhoni was fan of actor John Abraham and he has kept long hair during his initial years of international cricket by getting inspired by him.

Apart from this Mahi loves playing football. He was Goalkeeper in his school football team. He is also fond of food specially golgappas and chaat.

MS Dhoni’s History

In 1993 he was first spotted as a goalkeeper by KR Banerjee, cricket coach at his school and then he asked Dhoni to try his hands in wicket keeping.

PC Poddar, the former cricket captain of Bengal has seen potential in MS Dhoni during the Talent Resource Development Wing (TRDW) match in Jamshedpur. He was then selected for Bihar U19 team in 1998-99 season. He had scored 176 runs from 5 matches that time.

Dhoni was employed as TTE at Kharagpur Railway Station from year 2001 to 2003.
